Standards and Requirements

If you are planning to construct a new facility that requires electricity, please view the Member Installation Standards Manual.  This document is presented for use in planning and constructing electrical wiring and equipment installations intended for connection to First Electric Cooperative's system.

The member or the member’s representative is encouraged to contact First Electric before any planning or construction takes place regarding the need for new electrical service or changes to existing service. First Electric strongly recommends the use of a qualified, licensed electrical contractor for all work.

Additionally, if you are a developer or engineer planning to construct a residential subdivision that will have underground service, the necessary requirements and application are available for download below. The application must be completed and returned to First Electric before design of the electric system can proceed.
