Operation Round-Up at First Electric is a unique opportunity for you to support community projects and student scholarships.
Small change, that changes lives.
Since 1998, the program has donated over $1.8 million to deserving nonprofits and scholarships.
Participating in Operation Round-Up is simple. Each month, First Electric rounds up the electric bill of participating members to the next highest dollar. For example, a monthly bill of $52.73 would be rounded up to $53, with the additional $0.27 contributed to the Operation Round-Up Trust Fund. These contributions are tax-deductible, and participating members receive a summary of their annual donations in December and January.
The Operation Round-Up Trust Fund is administered by a nine-member board of community trustees appointed by First Electric’s Board of Directors. The trustees meet quarterly to review grant applications and determine recipients. First Electric covers all administrative costs associated with the program, ensuring that 100 percent of the rounded-up funds are distributed to nonprofit organizations and college scholarship recipients.
