A Solar Installation Experience You Can Trust
Using the sun’s free energy to power your home seems like a great idea, right? But how do you convert this green energy into actual, usable energy for your home?
Solar Services by First Electric Cooperative has the answer for you! Once we conduct a site evaluation, we’ll design a custom system to meet your home’s needs and site layout. We’ll secure permits needed to install your array and commission the system so you can start producing energy and monitoring it from your home or app!
ARE SOLAR PANELS WORTH IT?
That’s a question we’ll help you answer! It’s not a “one-size” fits all answer. That’s why we take the time to listen to your goals to determine if we can help you accomplish them.
Best Practices When Considering Solar for Your Home:
SOLAR POSITIONING
Be cautious of trees and shading that will impact the production of your solar system.
Directional location of the system (North, South, East or West) can impact production.
Make sure the roof mount solar system is placed on a structurally sound location.
SOLAR PAYBACK
Verify with your utility provider the assumed annual kWh increase.
Verify your eligibility for the Federal Tax Credits. If you're not eligible, we suggest you remove those from the payback.
Be aware that finance fees and interest can impact the cost of your system.
BE CAREFUL OF PROMISES
Don’t feel pressured to make a decision right away.
Be careful of the promise to be “energy independent” of your electric provider.
Be cautious of the promise to pay no more electric bills. Check with your utility provider about future electric bills. All utilities have a set fee, First Electric calls it a Service Availability Charge, that is a standard monthly charge designed to recover the basic monthly costs of providing poles, wire, transformers, meters, billing, etc.
