First Electric Cooperative members have reelected Karissa Rushing of Benton and Larry Wood of Cabot to serve six-year terms on the Board of Directors. The election results were announced during the cooperative's Annual Membership Meeting, held June 25 at First Electric's headquarters in Jacksonville, where the results of the mail-in ballot election were officially certified.

First Electric also extends its sincere appreciation to John Gaunt and Terry "Lucas" Minton for their willingness to run for the Board of Directors. Their participation reflects the strength of the cooperative's democratic process and their commitment to serving fellow members. The cooperative congratulates all four candidates for their dedication to First Electric and the communities it serves.

As a member-owned electric cooperative, First Electric is governed by a Board of Directors elected by and from its membership. The board has a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interests of the cooperative and its member-owners by establishing policies, providing governance and ensuring the cooperative remains financially strong while delivering safe, reliable and affordable electric service.
