Youth Tour 2022

Youth Tour 2022

Posted on July 27th, 2022

From June 17-23, Ashton Burgess of Perryville, Eli Coleman of Sherwood, John Kirby of Cabot and Carrington Thompson of Humphrey attended Youth Tour and explored the nation’s capital with delegates from other Arkansas electric cooperatives.

While in Washington, D.C., students learned about the cooperative’s impact on rural communities. They also were able to meet Arkansas’ congressional delegation. Some of the historic sites they visited included: Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian Institution, Arlington National Cemetery, the Lincoln Memorial, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and the U.S. Capitol.

“My favorite part was meeting with Arkansas senators and representatives. To see these men was amazing because it’s not every day you meet politicians that play a role in our country. I can truly say we had a great time with great stories to tell!” Thompson said.
