Safe, Reliable, Affordable Power... Our Promise to You.

Since 1937, First Electric has been delivering safe, reliable and affordable power to you – our Members. Electricity is something that most take for granted, including me. However, it is an essential part of our daily lives 24/7. How many of us - wake up, flip the light switch and start the coffee maker without questioning if you will have power? Without it, you would be in the dark, caffeine-deprived and taking a cold shower... not a great way to start the day!

Most people only think about electricity when the power goes out or perhaps when the monthly bill arrives. We try our best to keep both at a minimum for you. Our crews are always prepared to work quickly and safely to restore your power, and our board works hard to keep your rates affordable.

But considering what electricity does for us, it is a tremendous value for our quality of life as well as our budgets. For comparison, consider that the National Average rent increase was nearly 4% (from 2014 to 2019) according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index (CPI). The cost of medical care was increased 3% during this time, and education was not too far behind at 2.6%. So, where did electricity rank? According to the CPI, electricity increased by less than half a percentage point, 0.4%.

Safety is our top priority at First Electric. Now, it has a much broader meaning. The First Electric Board and employees are operating to safely serve our membership through the COVID-19 pandemic. When you see a First Electric employee in the field — please practice social distancing for your protection and theirs. We want to keep our Members and employees healthy and safe during this national pandemic.
