From Your Board Chairman, Rick Love

We live in the most beautiful state in America. The sprawling lakes, magnificent rivers, breathtaking mountains and southern hospitality draw people from around the world. Unfortunately, torrential rainfall caused the magnificent rivers to unleash devastation across our state. The flows created “the worst flooding in recorded history,” according to officials with the National Weather Service.
At First Electric we have a saying during storm restoration - “When things are at the worst, our crews are at their best.” I believe this saying can also be applied to the residents of our great state. It’s our friends and neighbors – our fellow Arkansans - who have filled sandbags, served meals, moved furniture, rescued animals and cared for those who have lost everything. I would say that I’m amazed by the generosity, but I’m not. That is what we do in Arkansas — we love our neighbor as our own.
Kudos to those who have worked long hours, donated money and resources to help. I encourage you, if you haven’t already, to consider donations to local foodbanks, Red Cross and other emergency management organizations. Your gifts are greatly appreciated.
One note of business needs to be covered. You received your annual report and director’s ballot in the mail. We greatly appreciate all who returned their ballots.
The annual meeting was held June 27 and David Luebke was re-elected to the board to serve a six-year term.
We appreciate your membership and look forward to another successful year at the co-op.
Rick Love, Chairman
